Fred Frith (born February 17, 1949) is an English multi-instrumentalist, composer and improvisor. Probably best-known for his guitar work, Frith first came to attention as one of the founding members of the English avant-prog group Henry Cow. Frith was also a member of Art Bears, Massacre and Skeleton Crew. He has collaborated with a number of prominent musicians, including Robert Wyatt, Brian Eno, Lars Hollmer, The Residents, Lol Coxhill, John Zorn, Bill Laswell, Derek Bailey, Iva Bittová and Bob Ostertag.

UN DÍA COMO HOY... Jack Kerouac (1922)

Un día como hoy, en el año de 1922, en Massachusetts nace Jean-Louis Lebris de Kerouac. Mejor conocido como Jack Kerouac. Escribió ficciones autobiográficas de sus viajes alrededor de Norteamérica. Junto con W. S. Burroughs, Allen Ginsberg y Neil Cassady formaron lo que se describiría como el movimiento “beat”. Entre sus obras más Representativas, están "Doctor Sax", "The Dharma Bums", "Mexico City Blues", "The Subterraneans", "Desolation Angels", "Visions of Cody" and "Big Sur".

Picky Picnic - Kuru Kuru World (1989)

Picky Picnic is a Japanese band from the 80s, part of that same movement that musically united The Residents, Renaldo & the Loaf, Der Plan, and Ptôse over the distances.
They made a specialty of “family” choruses, as if recorded in their kitchen at lunch time. A visual equivalent could be the “My Neighbours The Yamada” anime, which brings as much poetry through false simplicity.  

The band only released one LP. A few cassettes (generally copies of copies) also circulated over the world from hand to hand, at a time when cassette switching was particularly developed within underground communities (see Thurston Moore’s passionate article in Wire on switching Japanese tapes).
It has been alleged that the band ceased its activities when a member was convicted of drug usage by the Japanese police, and given a jail sentence.

 

Mistery Science Thearer 3000 (LIVE)

Mystery Science Theater 3000 (often abbreviated as MST3K) is an American cult television comedy series created by Joel Hodgson and produced by Best Brains, Inc., that ran from 1988 to 1999.

The series features a man and his robot sidekicks who are trapped on a space station by an evil scientist and forced to watch a selection of bad movies, often (but not limited to) science fiction B-movies. To keep sane, the man and his robots provide a running commentary on each film, making fun of its flaws and wisecracking (or "riffing") their way through each reel in the style of a movie-theater peanut gallery. Each film is presented with a superimposition of the man and robots' silhouettes along the bottom of the screen.
